Daily Outfit 5/3/09

Outfit 5/3/09 by you.

Secondhand tank + blazerjacketthing from work, vintage necklace, ruffle skirt from Target, new Fluevog boots, and a rose quartz bracelet I made that you can’t see here! I found the skirt at Target yesterday and loved it on sight, I’m glad the hanger didn’t have a size on it because I probably wouldn’t have tried it on if it did – it’s 1-2 sizes smaller than I normally wear! From looking at the reviews on the Target site, it looks like customers have been going down a size or two to wear it at the natural waist and normal size for low waist. I feel like with these boots I have to wear a skirt that hits above the knee, so this was perfect. Not to mention I’d seen a similar skirt with a more pencil-esque silhouette for $100 on some online shop and had been planning on making a replica anyways – for $17 I saved myself the effort! I also picked up a super cute exposed zipper dress on a recommendation from someone at the Fluevog store (she was wearing one, and I thought it was from ModCloth!). A size small was all that was left and it’s a little bit tight in the bust area, but hey!

The guy working in the lobby Saturday and Sunday stopped us on the way in yesterday to tell us how much he loves my pink hair and how I’m always dressed so colorfully. It made me smile! :)

We didn’t do much of anything on Sunday, we didn’t fall asleep until late Saturday night so I woke up at 10:30 and listened to Matt snore until nearly noon. We got something to eat at a little Italian (sort of) place and something about it (I got cheese raviolis with marinara sauce) made me NAUSEOUS. Ugh. So that meant we spent the next 2-3 hours back at the hotel because I didn’t want to go out for fear of vomiting somewhere. Then we went to see X-Men Origins, which was…well, it wasn’t absolutely terrible, I guess, but it could have been done so much better. Not going in to it too much, don’t want to spoil it for everyone, but I would definitely advise to wait for it to hit a budget theater or rent it on DVD.

Now it’s off to the Fields Museum, where we get to see an exhibit on pirates! Argghh!
