Hi – I know this is quite an old post now – but I just want to add that my new pearl and metallic red heart Lady Dragons have a lift up lid NOT a slide out lid – I bought mine from the Melissa shop in Melbourne Central itself so I’m quite certain they’re authentic – so just if you’re freaking out about a lift up lid, don’t panic, that style of box is okay too..

Sadly, I found this only after receiving a fake pair of VW Melissa from an eBay seller who claims its a gift and she had no idea if its real one as stated in the listing. In addition, she mentioned that she has a few pairs herself and I can’t see why she can’t tell the difference when I could upon receiving her fake pair and checking it with my real ones. I was 100% convinced when I chance upon here after reading all the useful information.

Had emailed her over this issue and hope she will reply if not I shall have to escalate this to a claim.

I feel like kicking myself in the head as I have always been really careful with purchases and will do reseach on authencity. But I let myself slipped on this one and got scammed.

But thank you so much for sharing this. Absolute lifesaver!

Hey Sophia!

I’m not sure about the Lady Dragons with the double bow. If you’re unsure about something, I would definitely email Melissa themselves and ask them about the counterfeits and color schemes – they were very very helpful when I was talking to them, as obviously they want to make sure people don’t buy counterfeits!

Good luck getting your dispute resolved – I think there’s probably a good chance it’ll work out for you, as the main thing with me was that I didn’t figure out they were counterfeits until after the allotted time had passed!

I just stumbled on your bog as I was searching for a review on how to spot fae VW+Melissa shoes. Thank you so much for writing this! I wish I saw this earlier as I just found out that one of my recent purchases on ebay is sadly a fake (I stupidly bought the black with red heart) and have lodged a dispute with Paypal and escalated the claim as the seller isn’t reponding.

However, are there fakes with the Lady Dragons with double bow? I’ve seen a few listed in black with a tortoiseshell bow and also in red (bow is also red). I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some (I also suspect the red ones I got are a fake too).

I’ve certainly learned my lesson.

They dont even hav proper functionality to report fakes, the site just doesnt let you submit the complaints
