I almost didn’t post these pictures because I look so white in them. I mean, holy crap. I swear that if you ever see me in the world of Real Life ™, I do not glow in the dark. PROMISE.
Anyways.
So here we have sweater tights & top from Kohl’s, courtesy of that $25 giftcard I won a while ago. The mary janes are Sofft and the belt is F21. I made the skirt – picked up the fabric on clearance at Jo-Ann’s. I’m not 100% happy with how it turned out (this isn’t short by any means – at least so Matt tells me, it felt short to me! – but I wanted it a bit longer), but I didn’t have enough fabric so oh well. I might go see if it’s still there later and pick up some more of it. I don’t know if you can tell, but the chevrons on the sweater tights run perfectly vertical on one leg and then on the other leg want to get all wonky above the knee. It drove me crazy.
I picked up a really cute navy blazer (eerily similar to the one that I got for the shop, but at a different store) and almost took the photos with it, but it felt a little prep school to me, so I didn’t. I did wear it the next day in an outfit that seemed very schoolgirl meets Tank Girl to me (OTK blue socks + engineer boots + patterned skirt + black top + the navy blazer), but I didn’t get pictures since it was raining by the time we got home. And then I spilled hot cocoa all over the skirt (which has a white/cream base and is made of imported, discontinued fabric from Japan). Sigh. I’ve got it mostly out but there’s still a light tint, I’m going to try baking powder or Borax next. Anyone have any magical stain removing recipes?
