My first ever video post!
It came out very yellow-toned, but I’ll just make sure to get better lighting next time – I didn’t want to re-record the whole thing. Next time I’ll make sure that less of the screen is taken up by wall and closet door, as well. I was worried some of it would get cut off, since it was just over 10 minutes, but apparently it didn’t!
Things I mentioned:
- Communicatrix: December in January and her list of goal setting posts elsewhere on the web.
- First post in Ittybiz series about goals.
- I didn’t mention this, but meant to: I quit.
Here’s my idea board for 2010:

2010 dream board
In it are photos of yoga, things that look like fun, a lady with tattoos, money, someone whizzing around on a scooter, the Austin skyline at night (because I want to grow into the city we moved to, become a thriving part of it, like ivy vines on a wall), and photos of Iceland – which is one of the places I would LOVE to visit. Visiting it before the end of the year is one of my goals, actually. I’d love to do sort of a Scandinavian tour and hit Denmark & Norway too, but for some reason I’m particularly captivated with Iceland.
It’s (the idea board, not Iceland) not perfect by any means, but I think it will do fine for its purpose – which is to hang in a prominent spot and remind me of my words.
Also, I neglected to mention it, but that top/wrap (it can be worn as a wrap dress or a long cardigan sort of thing) is a Buffalo Exchange find and it is FABULOUS. Not so much in the feathers and sequins kind of way, as the “I can put this on with leggings and shoes, and feel like I’m wearing pajamas, but go out in public without risking someone mistaking me for a homeless person” way. I got it a week and a half ago (along with a leather jacket & new purse, photos to come), and have worn it about every other day since acquiring it. I looove it.
I also wanted to include an excerpt from this post at Neil Gaiman’s blog as my New Year’s wish to you guys, and forgot:
I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly, (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind.
I think I need “dream dangerously and outrageously” somewhere on the walls in my house. Anyways, back to the point: let’s make 2010 badass! I’ll be trying my best and I know you can do it.
