Daily Outfit 1/30/10

FYI: It was very bright and very cold outside, hence the slightly grumpy face.

Here we have: Target tank-dress (secret: it’s actually a maternity tank…which apparently means super long…), American Apparel t-shirt-dress-thing (from Buffalo Exchange, destroyed by your’s truly), and wrap-thingy also from BX. The boots, of course – you may have noticed they’re getting a ridiculous amount of wear lately! – are my Fluevog engineer boots.

Anyways, I was trying something different here. I realized that I think a large part of my uncomfortableness with wearing shorter (as in, shorter than knee length!) skirts/dresses came from an uncomfortableness with my body. When I started putting on more weight in my hips/butt/thighs, it was a lot easier to just wear poofy knee-length skirts than feel insecure wearing tight or short skirts.

My solution is, obviously, to just get over it.

(I have an even grouchier face here. I’m pretty sure Matt was sassin’ me.)

See! It’s tight, under there. Not sure if it counts since I wore a wrap over it. But to be fair, I would have been freezing my ass of without the wrap. Which makes it count as progress, in my book.

ANYWAYS. I wore this to go the Rock N Swap on Saturday night, with Amanda. It was super busy (and super loud…I’m such an old lady!). We ran into Tolly, Nikki, and Indiana too. It was a TON of fun though, cold and loudness notwithstanding. Among other things, I ended up with a white skirt and t-shirt (to be dyed), very grandma-esque crocheted lace sweater (which is also being dyed and hacked up to boot), a denim jacket/blazer, a tank-dress, and something that I think is a nightie-coverup (it’s Anna Sui for Victoria’s Secret), but I plan on wearing it in outfits anyways. That’s how I roll.

PS: Check out my guest post over at Steff Metal! And Lisa, from the Sassy Minx, wrote a bit about me yesterday too!
