Things I Love Thursday: The I’ve-Been-Tagged Edition

Well, lookee here! I got tagged for something that just happens to fit in fabulously with Things I Love Thursday. So here we go, 10 things I love right now:

  1. That Gogol Bordello is releasing a new CD next month – color me excited! I’ve listened to the sample track and think it sounds fan-freaking-tastic. Now if only they’d come to Austin again, when I can actually afford tickets…
  2. These shoes. I won’t lie, we’ve had our issues – if you are between sizes and don’t have freakishly narrow heels (like I do), I’d definitely suggest buying a half size up. But I seem to have (finally!) adequately stretched them out in the ball of foot area, to where I can wear them without worrying of cutting off circulation to my toes. They were worth it, seeing as how I got them for $30 on sale at Amazon!
  3. Dr. Scholl’s insoles for heels. Ah-maz-ing. (They greatly improved the shoes mentioned in #2.)
  4. That spring is finally here! Oh, and it’s so lovely in Austin. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ll be able to swim outside by the beginning of April.
  5. Kukuburi. Just discovered this webcomic yesterday and it is amazing. The colors, man, look at the colors! (That was meant to be an British military/explorer-y “man”, not a stoned hippy “man”, but read as you will.)
  6. Speaking of comics, we are thisclose to being able to launch Bandit Printing! *insert confetti and noisemakers here*
  7. My new swimsuit. Photos to come. Ashley (my little sister) was supposed to be coming down for spring break next week – although it looks like that’s cancelled, boo – and since I had told her to bring a swimsuit, I panicked as I don’t really have one that fits well. Esther Williams swimsuits come highly recommend, but have a turnaround time of 4-6 weeks. Ack! I hit up Ross, and then Marshall’s, and lo and behold, found a $15 (down from $86) retro-goddess swimsuit – with an actual built in bra. That fit. The heavens opened up and angels sang, y’all.
  8. Things falling into place and new projects getting started! There is the aforementioned Bandit Printing, new and exciting things upcoming with Style Therapy, and hopefully within the next month I’ll be able to get a Wacom tablet so I can start seriously working on the Valkyries webcomic.
  9. My cats – they entertain me on a daily basis. Yesterday, Wesley found the ziploc bag of catnip and kept trying to open it. Matt gave her a bit and then moved the bag behind him – she followed the bag and kept trying to re-open it. Oh, our little fuzzball drug addict…
  10. Matt. I know, gag me, right? Even though both of us being at home all the time is a fairly new development and taking some, err, adjustment, he cracks me up on a daily basis. Case in point: the other day, he decided he wanted a pair of nunchucks. He promptly figures out a way to make them himself. Later, we’re out shopping, and I exasperatedly told him to use his common sense. His reply? “Michelle, I spent an hour and a half today making nunchucks. Do not talk to me about common sense.”

What about you? What’s been making your life great lately?

#10 is great! Don’t ever feel embarrassed to share how awesome your bf is! What I’m loving now is my cat’s newest weird habit. I get up at 3 am to use the bathroom, she hides behind the couch and lunges at me, full-speed, when I leave the bathroom. It’s so adorably ridiculous.

    Those wedges are hot!
Your kitty is named Wesley? My doggie is named Wesley! :D

  • Jill Vicious

I have a pair of dressy shoes with a heel shaped like the ones in #2. They’re kind of awkward, but I still love them.

Najeema – Haha! Wesley likes to get up with me in the mornings and then follows me into the bathroom for snuggles. Cat habits are SO weird!

Alicia – yes, indeed they do :D

Annie Spandex – Thanks, I love them! And yes, her name is Wesley – we named her before we knew she was a girl. It seems to be a popular pet name :)

Jill – I’m just not used to walking in wedges, I think – my ankles are prone to turning, so I need a little practice! I love the way they look, though.

I love the story about Matt – don’t ever feel like you need to apologize for sharing awesome stuff like that. It’s pretty rad that you have a partner that you get and who gets you. I love that story too (from a woman whose partner spent 45 minutes trying to teach me to make machine gun noises the other day).
