I changed the name from Marvelous Monday to the less alliterative Monday Link Roundup – just because I feel it fits a little better…here’s this week’s interestin’ readin’:
- Remember where there was all the hubbub about the German magazine that banned models? Franca at Oranges & Apples checked out a copy of their magazine, 9 months on, and I thought she had some interesting things to say about it.
- we don’t have to
- I just discovered this amazing bookmarklet-app-thing the other day. If you’re easily distracted by visual noise on webpages, it is a LIFE. SAVER. It essentially takes all of the distracting parts of the page away and just gives you text on a page set to your specifications.
- The danger of a single story – video and transcript at the link, it’s of a great TED talk!
- Want to ditch your store bought facial cleanser? hell yeah! I’ve posted about the oil cleansing method before & I’m still having great luck with it – the link has some suggestions for different oil blends to use.
- This review of the Secret of Kells really, really made me want to see it. So, of course, it doesn’t come out on DVD until October. Expect a review sometime around then!
- Increasing Your Visual Vocabulary
- Lost in Translation – fascinating article about the way languages affect our thought processes.
- & on a different note, a few words about language.
- When Overwhelm Hits Hard
aaaand that’s it for this week! I hope you all had a great weekend and that you’re starting the week off right!
