NaNoWriMo: End of Week 1

Before NaNo started, I kept thinking that it was going to be totally easy. I already had my story all outlined and everything – heck, I even had scripts for the first few chapters from when I was going to do it as a graphic novel!

The phrase “eat your words” comes to mind. I was sick the first two days of November, not sleeping well, headachey, stuffy, and just really really out of it, so I got some 776 words done between those two days. I went to write on Wednesday and I was just really not feeling it; I’m sure the fact that I hadn’t written much the last few days was a factor, but I just don’t want to tell that story right now. I deliberated over what to do instead – because dammit, I am doing some sort of writing for November – should I do the GloManWriMo? Or the write a blog post every day challenge? (I forgot the name of that. BloPoWriMo, maybe?) Or grab one of my other story ideas and attempt to make up for lost time and get to 50,000 words on it?

I decided to do the last one, grab a story idea and work on it. I’ve got the world in my head, but not a coherent plot, and so this will be quite the rollicking adventure. But I got some done yesterday, and I have a writing date today with Ana so – we’ll see how it goes! *crosses fingers*

Lesson learned this week: Don’t be afraid to quit, as long as you have a good reason to.

Good on you for not quitting =D
I had to shelf my NaNo project – I tried something new but got bored with it very quickly. I have another writing challenge for this month – and that’s get the novel I’ve been working on OVER with! Only one chapter away!

Thanks for the encouragement! (and the info, Shi! I knew it was something like that :P )

Rachael – I don’t know if I’m going to “win” but my goal is to at least make a significant dent in this project. Good luck with your novel, you can do it!
