I have quite the link list for y’all this week! You ready? Here we go!
- I randomly found this in the Connection Revolution archives, and it is amazing: An Unconventional Guide to Saving Lives
- Some thoughts on the tragic Arizona shooting: A Better Nation…? & Upset, Sad, Shocked, and Only A Little Surprised – that second one was found via the Communicatrix. (Also, Rep. Giffords is off the ventilator now! Definitely good news.)
- On another serious note, you’ve probably heard about the flooding in Queensland. Find out what you can do here and here.
- Why Stereotypes Piss Me Off (And How They’re Ruining Your Life)
- If you’re not reading Propaganda for the Soul, you should be! Kristin is an amazing & thought provoking writer. Here’s a recent post: On Loss, Death, Eternity, and the Truth of Abundance (inspired by my post about my grandpa’s death – I couldn’t have asked for a better response) & an older one: Fashion, Style, and the Reason Nobody Remembers You.
- And speaking of Kristen, I found this amazing website through him: Rethinking Style
- Seven Things I Need to Know I Learned From Punk Rock – hell yes! (I have a guest post coming up on Question the Rules soon! It’s about life lessons from the Clash.)
- Growing is Forever
- An interview with Alex Mar, courtesy of the Wild Hunt – I’m really looking forward to the realize of her documentary (American Mystic), it sounds fascinating & she seems like someone with a true respect for the subject material.
- Your Life, Your Pace, Your Rules – Fabian continues to bring his a-game and write awesome posts.
- how to be a creative badass: a 12-point plan
- and on a similar note: How to Be a Bad-Ass in Business & in Life
- 12 Scientically Proven Steps Towards Everyday Happiness
- Via Gala, I found this inspiration board of a rainbow of hair. You KNOW I was immediately all over it. So pretty! (Almost enough to make me think about switching my colors up. Probably not, in actuality. I am getting it cut on Tuesday, though! Pretty psyched for that, long hair was nice for a while but it’s got to go.)
- Money advice from Danielle LaPorte – Part 1 and Part 2
- Should I work for free? – a flowchart.
- StyleLikeU did an interview with Molly Crabapple, and oh man. Just go watch it. Anyone who cites Victorian-era French prostitutes as fashion inspiration is good in my book.
- Feminism + Entrepreneurship = Powerful Potential
- Starbursts, Sirens, and Seriously Shining
- Finally, a wonderful post from Karl: How Cancer Changed My Blog
I hope you’re all having a fan-freakin-tastic weekend! I’ve been forcing myself to relax & get away from the computer, since I’ll be working on Take Back Your Creativity all week starting tomorrow. And it’s been lovely – I need to make an effort to do so more often! Make sure you get some time away from the computer this weekend, before starting the work week again. Totally worth it.
